Complete Weekend Forecast

November 06 2009

Kris Posman For the past several days, our weather has been completely quiet. But things are about to change.

First, Tonight...possible frost.
The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a FROST ADVISORY for the following counties: Effingham, Tattnall, Evans, inland Jasper, Jenkins, Screven, Candler, Bulloch, Allendale, Hampton and inland Colleton.

The FROST ADVISORY is in effect from 3a.m. to 8a.m.

A strong high pressure system will settle over the region tonight, resulting in unseasonably cool temperatures. Clear skies and nearly calm winds will allow temperatures to fall into the mid to upper 30s prior to daybreak Saturday across portions of southern South Carolina and southeast Georgia. These conditions will be favorable for the formation of scattered frost, especially in low lying and sheltered locations.

Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered.

For tomorrow, it will be a cold start, but it won't take long to get comfortable. Expect sunny skies and easterly winds with highs reaching the upper 60s to the lower 70s.

Over the weekend, it will gradually start to warm back up. By Sunday, we will see highs in the mid to upper 70s with sunshine.

Come next week though, moisture begins to increase, and storm chances will go up by mid week.

But this isn't all that's going on. The tropics...the other big story. Tropical Depression Ida is now back over water, and the storm is getting stronger. By next week, this storm system could be a tropical storm spinning in the Gulf of Mexico. We will keep on tracking it for you and providing the very latest updates.

Have a great weekend and keep looking up!
