Rain on the Way

November 20 2009

David Ernst Friday night: partly cloudy...lows in the upper 40s...Light NE wind

Saturday: mostly cloudy, slight chance of rain...highs in the upper 60s...NE wind 5-10 mph

Saturday night: mostly cloudy, rain likely...lows in the mid 50s...E wind 5-10 mph

We saw a pleasant day on Friday, but clouds will be steadily increasing through the night. They'll be mostly cloudy for Saturday, and there is a slight chance of rain for the afternoon. An area of low pressure will be moving along the Gulf coast this weekend, and will begin impacting the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry by Saturday night. Rain showers will be likely after midnight on Saturday/Sunday morning. Our chance for rain continues to increase for Sunday morning. The rain could be heavy at times on Sunday. Although we shouldn't see much in the way of thunderstorm activity for Sunday, a few claps of thunder could be possible especially across southern Georgia. The rain should begin to come to an end Sunday night as the low pushes out of the region. Skies should start clearing up for Monday and our weather will be seasonable. We're expecting highs to stay around 70 for much of the week with lows around 50. Thanksgiving looks like it should be dry, but a cooldown could be headed our way around the time of the holiday. Highs could be down in the lower 60s by next weekend.
